The Inside Scoop: Bridging the Divide to Move Higher Education Forward

Event

In a time of deep partisan divide, higher education is unexpectedly one of the few areas where Americans can still share common ground. While public confidence has declined over time, Varying Degrees, New America’s ninth annual survey into higher education, indicates all hope is not lost. Both Republicans and Democrats believe higher education offers a good return on investment and supports greater—not less—funding for the system.

The current political headwinds facing colleges and universities bring significant challenges for students and institutions alike, but it also leaves an opportunity for transformation. Join New America for an ice cream social where you'll get the “scoop” on this year’s Varying Degrees findings and hear from higher education leaders and policy experts on how colleges and universities can stay true to their missions, rise to meet the moment, and better serve today’s students.

The event is in-person only. Ice cream will be served after the panel discussion.
